Press Release
The Urgent Call for Energy Transition
At Macaw Energies, we take actions driving immediate, impactful climate-positive change.
Over the last decade, our world has seen a worrying 1.1°C rise in global surface temperatures compared to the pre-industrial era (1850-1900). Alarming data reveals a current warming rate of 0.2°C per decade, projecting a 1.5°C increase by 2040.
Reports from recognized bodies such as the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), IRENA, and IEA underscore that although Renewables and Green Tech are advancing rapidly, they're falling short of the targets needed for achieving net zero scenarios and securing the wellbeing of our planet and future generations. The imperative for immediate solutions to slash emissions and offer low-carbon energy alternatives is undeniably real.

Addressing the Gas Flaring Challenge

Gas flaring, the burning of natural gas linked to oil extraction, severely impacts climate, health, and the environment.
More than 140 billion cubic meters of natural gas are flared annually – almost a sixth of the US's total gas consumption. This equates to a staggering 350 billion tons of CO2 equivalent emissions, equivalent to restoring 473 million acres of forest.
While the Net-Zero Emissions by 2050 Scenario mandates eliminating non-emergency flaring globally by 2030, viable solutions remain elusive for small-volume flares.
Traditional flare gas utilization encounters logistical and economic hurdles, especially in remote oilfields. Macaw Energies addresses this by innovatively capturing, liquefying, and transforming flare into low-carbon LNG. Even more remarkable, we're converting it into electrons to power medium and heavy-duty vehicles and accelerate electrification.
